Cloud is the future and Atlassian is fully committed to developing its missing features. So if you already had a look at Atlassian Cloud and something was missing, please remember there is still a lot of time left before February 2024. For further information, check the Cloud roadmap.

When is the best time to migrate?

You have time until February 2024, but we suggest you start looking into Cloud now to take advantage of some benefits:

  • Benefit of the Cloud loyalty discount program – the earlier you migrate the more you save.

  • Benefit of free, extended migration trials that match the length of your remaining server maintenance (up to 12 months) to help you evaluate and migrate to cloud over time – without disrupting your teams.

There are a few ways you can sign up for a cloud migration trial. For details please follow this link to Atlassian Cloud Migration Trials for Server and Data Center Customers.

Which Cloud plan is the right for me?

  • Learn more about the differences between Free, Standard, Premium and Enterprise plans of Confluence and Jira. Choose the Best Cloud Plan for You

  • Ask yourself “which features are important for your company?”

  • If you have specific requirements on data residency (most likely German and European customers) you should consider the Enterprise plan. Check out the available information on data residency and security and compliance.

How does the migration journey look like?

  • Assess – audit your current tech stack, especially customizations and apps. Learn About App Compatibility

  • Plan – plan the actual migration with the help of Atlassian’s Cloud Migration Managers or get in touch with us.

  • Prepare – This phase can take time, anywhere from days to weeks, so ensure that you’re leaving enough time to complete this phase. Most important review the pre-migration checklists available for Confluence or Jira.

  • Test – test, test, test, …

  • Migrate – set your Server installation to read-only, start the migration and cross your fingers.

  • Launch – communicate to your stakeholders that the migration was successful, what changed and the individual post-migration tasks.

We are running a lot of custom developed Apps – how do we get them running in the Cloud?

  • Same as on Server, Atlassian offers a powerful development framework for the Cloud. The Atlassian Developer site is a good point to get familiar with Atlassian Connect or Forge.

  • As a partner who has been successfully running Apps on Cloud for years, we can also help you in this journey. Just get in touch with us.
